These photos were taken on Dec 21 2007 in Pueblo Sacbe. It was another magical event. Prior to these photos, I attended a Mayan solstice ceremony followed by hearing an elder speak. People gathered around the stage in the awesome theatre to enjoy local music and sounds.

Excited about returning

friendintree
(my sacbe neighbour; Turquoise-browed Motmot)

Well as the world seems to becoming slightly more chaotic, I am preparing for my departure to Quintana Roo, Mexico. I am looking forward to visiting the site of my new project in "Pueblo Sacbe". Soon, I am hoping to make a draft of a house that will be built with bare hands. I may have to crack open some of my ancient-floor plan design training from my theatre school days at Ryerson for blue-printing the outline of a jungle residence. It won't be anything super fancy, but promises to be characteristically adorable. This will be run on solar power and will have it's own eco-friendly septic treatment system. I expect it will take about a year to complete. Once I arrive, I will begin documenting and blogging through the process - however slow or fast it will go - and remember I will be on "Mexican" time there. I will be making friends with the birds, tarantulas, scorpions, snakes, insects and who knows what else has in store for me... (pumas?)
